The Fire
Leo sat in his room, on his bed, staring at the ceiling, the door closed. He sighed. Then he heard someone knocking on his door.
"Leo!" a little girls' voice called. "Wanna play with me?"
"No, Mia," Leo said.
"Please!?"
"No.''
"Fine, then!"
Leo heard his sister, Mia, walk away. He sighed again. God, my life is boring... he thought. He rolled onto his stomach and stuffed his face in his pillow. He closed his eyes. Then fell asleep.
***
Leo woke up to someone pounding on his bedroom door. "What do you want?" Leo asked whoever was at the door. "LEO!" his mother called from the other side. "Get out of your room! Leo's mother sounded paniced so he jumped out of bed and quickly opened his door. "What's wro-" Leo smelled smoke. His eyes widened in surprise. "Leo! Get outside! There's a fire!" his mother yelled. The fire had started in the kitchen and was traveling quickly towards the bedrooms. "Where's Mia!?" Leo asked. "And Dad?!"
His mother became more paniced. "Oh my God! Mia! Where is she!?"
"I don't know!" Leo yelled.
"We have to find Mia! Mia!" his mom yelled, running off towards Mia's room. Leo headed for the living room.
"MIA!" he yelled. "Where are you!?" All Leo could hear was the roar of the fire. The smoke burned his eyes and filled his lungs. He coughed uncontrolably. He then saw something in the corner of the kitchen. "Mom!" Leo yelled, running for Mia's room. "I found Mia!" Leo's Dad was in Mia's room with his mother. "Thank God!" Leo's mom cried. She started running for the door. But suddenly, a rafter fell from the ceiling and blocked the doorway. "Leo! Go get Mia! Don't come back-cough-for us!" his mother cried, now coughing uncontrolably. Leo's eyes began to water. But not from the smoke. "I love you, Mom. I love you, Dad," Leo said. "We love you, too! Now, go get Mia!" his mom yelled. Leo ran towards the kitchen. He still saw the 'thing' in the corner of the kitchen. He changed into a wolf and ran towards the 'thing', known as his sister. But then a rafter fell in his path. He stopped. There was no way around. He took a deep breath, only breathing in smoke. Then he jumped through the fire.
He landed on the other side and ran towards Mia. He grabbed her by the back of her collar and ran out the back door.

Leo layed Mia down by a tree in the backyard. Her eyes were closed. "Mia...?" Leo asked. Crak! Crak! Leo quickly turned towards the house. His eyes widened as the house collasped. "Mom... Dad..." Leo said quietly, falling to his knees. His head in his hands, he cried quietly.
"Mmm..."
Leo turned around, tears still falling from his eyes. Mia was awake. "Mia." Leo said, lifting her onto his lap. "Oh, Mia. You're all that I have left."

Leo walked into the charred house. There were barely any walls up. He walked towards the living room. Then he saw his family picture on the wall above the fireplace. He lifted the picture off the wall to see an outline of a heart behind it, on the wall. The heart was the only part of the house that wasn't burnt.

OOC:: The heart on the wall happened in real life. My grandma and grandpa's house caught on fire. (One of their dogs died in the fire. D*: His name was Rufus. He was my favorite. We used to dance together.) Then my dad and my uncle removed a picture from above the fireplace. And there was a heart outlined on the wall! I was like, "AWESOME!" (i was like...six or seven when this happened. Or maybe 9. idk)
