laughter

[Silvermoon]

A small pup, just around a few months old, bounded along the sea's edge. She ran along it, careful not to let the waves touch her, so it looked like she was chasing the waves to the ocean, then they chased her back. The grayish pup laughed with glee at her new game, it was rare she ever found something to play with.

Starting to get lost in thought about why the ocean moved, she had been distracted and the water rushed over her paws. The coldness of it sent a shock threw her, and snapped her back to reality. For a few moments, she tried to look adultish, and tried to just sit still. However, every once in a while she eyed the water. A grin started appearing on her face as she started pawing at the waves that came, splashing the water up.

It wasn't long before this simple pawing turned into a full out swim. She was out there, still in the shallow in, but deep enough out that the water nearly came up to her nose, deep enough that only the top half of her head was still out. Her small legs paddled around, splashing the water, and keeping her from sinking as she laughed, by then, Mina was completly unaware of anything else but the water.

[Aluet]

A white wolf walked along and spotted the small pup. She sighed and padded up behind the pup. She smiled at the pup's ability to be snuck up on. and said one word. "Boo."

[Silvermoon]

Mina's eyes went wide with fright when someone spoke behind her. Instinctively, she started thrashing, causing the water to splash in her face, momentarily keeping her from breathing. However, the waves brought helped bring the pup closer to the shore, where she could stand. Turning around, she looked wide eyed at the older wolf. Mina's breathing was still abnormal, but she managed to gasp. "Wah? Who? Don't do that!"

[Aluet]

Aluet giggled and walked over to the pup."I'm Aluet. You were pretty unaware of what was around you." She laughed out loud this time, her laugh was as pure and beautiful as silver, she looked at the pup. "And what's your name oh soaking one."

[Silvermoon]

Mina tried to relax, but she couldn't fully since she did not know this other wolf. however, she did relax fully when she heard the other one laugh. She tried to smile as well. "I..I'm Mina." She replied, a small shiver ran up her spine as the wind blew, making her wet frame cold for a few seconds.

[Aluet]

Aluet nuzzled the pup gently. "Come on kiddo, let's get some cover from the wind." She started to pad toward the grasses. "Coming?"

[Silvermoon]

Not wanting to be left behind so soon, Mina didn't waste time before bounding after the white wolf. "Where we going?" she asked when she caught up to the other wolf.

[Aluet]

Aluet smiled. A small sheltered place I found. She said as they arrived at the den in the ground. She stepped in. "Come on in Kid."

[Silvermoon]

Mina followed the white wolf curiously. She stopped at the entrance of the den. For a split second, she thought this was the same den she and her mother used to live in. Quickly, she shook the thought from her head, that den had been destroyed. Mina smiled and crawled in behind the older one. "Is this your den?" she asked, looking around.

[Aluet]

Aluet chuckled. "No I found it. It used to be a badger set but I dug it out." She nodded to a small hole. "That, is where the badger sleeps." Aluet walked over to the corner and sat down, neatly curling her tail around her paws. "So what's a little pup like you doing out here all by yourself?"

[Silvermoon]

Mina looked at the hole curiously, "Is the badger still in there?" she asked, wandering how the badger would put up with someone digging out there home and not move. However, when the older one asked the next question, Mina put on the best kind of smile she could, "I just got lost." she said, a bit of a laugh in her voice as if she didn't care. However, there was a distant look in her eyes as she was thinking about that question too. How come, if her mother had to die, how come she couldn't have stayed alive longer? Or how come her father couldn't have stayed?

[Aluet]

Aluet looked at the pup. "The badger and I made an agreement" She said smiling mischeviously. She padded to the hole and looked in. "He isn't home."

[Silvermoon]

Mina looked at the hole herself, as if to make sure. She didn't know what the older one had meant about making an agreement, but from her tone, she felt as if she should drop it. "How long have you been in this badger den?" she asked

[Aluet]

("- is badger talking)
Aluet yawned. "I don't know. Maybe 4 moons. It's hard to tell." In that moment the badger lumbered in and hopped into it's hole" "-Stupid Wolves." Aluet glared at the hole. "Cranky badger."

[Silvermoon]

Mina yelped and jumped back when the badger suddenly apeared. "I thought you said he wasn't in there." She said. She wasn;t scared of the badger, but it had surprised her.

[Aluet]

Aluet laughed. "He was out eating I guess." "-Oh great you brought a pup!" The badger came out. "Oh Bane you've allways been a crank." Aluet said to the badger.

[Silvermoon]

Mina sat down and listened to them argue. It was like watching two siblings in a way. The pups ear twitched, and she started scratching it. As she did so, she greeted the badger, "Hi."

[Aluet]

Bane glared at the pup. "-You annoyance! Don't say HI to me!" He screeched. Aluet jumped back at the scream and smacked her head on the roof of the den.

[Silvermoon]

Having been on her own for most of her life and not really ever having one to tell her about what was dangerous and what was not, Mina simply stopped scratching her ear when the badger spoke. "Fien then, Hello." A bit of puppyish stubbornness was creeping into her.

[Aluet]

Aluet rubbed her head as Bane laughed his gut out. "Oh shut up you cranky old badger." Bane laughed harder till he heard The pup. "-And what's your name freak?"
