"I thought you were Lord Peace. He...he was in my dream I had. He was laughing at me, at Paradise." Ryne kneeled on her knees, and looked at the ground as she spoke, recalling his laughter in her dream.

Leo bent down to her and put one hand on her shoulder. "It was only a dream, Ryne. A figment of your imagination." He looked down at the ground, removing his hand from her shoulder. "Don't let dreams intimidate you."

Ryne smiled and looked up at Leo. "The thing is, I think I know where Rose is being held. As I was falling, into the darkness I heard a voice calling me. 'Ryne......Paradise waits...in the keep...' It had said, and I know that only Nobles have Keeps. It's Their kingdoms." Ryne's eyes grew wide. "And we have to travel there. To save her, and open Paradise."

"Where exactly is the keep?" Leo asked. "There are many, right?"

"Well, that's what I don't know. There probably is many, but if we follow the scent of Rose, I'm sure we could find it." Ryne rose to her paws and looked at the sky, the moon was no longer visible against the pale, dawn sky. "Hey," She stretched, "Do you wanna go hunting for the pack?"

"Sure," Leo said, changing into a wolf. "The others will be happy to have food when they wake up." He started walking towards the trees.

Ryne trotted ahead of him, and sniffed the forest floor for any sign of prey. She smiled when her nose found the sweet scent if breakfast. Deer Tracks!
Quietly, she began to stalk through the undergrowth, letting the sweet deer scent guide her way. Eventually she saw it, the weak doe was milling about in a small clearing of grass. She sniffed the air, just to make sure this deer was sick. Ryne never liked to take the life of healthy prey, but somehow she was able to kill anything in battle. The doe was indeed sick. Therefore, Ryne continued stalking.

Leo scanned the bushes for prey. He caught the scent of a hare. The scent led to a small clearing in which the defenseless hare was nibbling on a few strands of grass. Leo lunged towards the hare. But as he lunged, the bandage on his wrist caught on a thorn and came off. Leo looked back and missed the hare, rolling over and hitting a tree trunk. He lay upside down, his tail in his face.

Ryne heard a nose, like...like a clumsy animal hitting the ground. Quickly, she lunged and killed the doe with one quick bite. Then she turned, and began dragging it back to camp. Luckily, it wasn't that heavy.
Suddenly, her paws tripped over a furry object on the forest floor. She went flying forward, with the deer carcass landing beside her. She looked to her left to see Leo laying askew on the ground. "Uhh?" She thingyed her head, "Uhh, do I want to know what happened?"

Leo saw Ryne and quickly ran to where the bandage was. He changed into a human and quickly wrapped the bandage around his wrist. "Nothing. I just got distracted when I was about to get a hare. Then I ran into the tree."

Ryne watched curisouly as Leo quickly covered his wrist with the bandage. "Hey, why do you wear that bandage?" She finally woofed.

Leo sighed. "I wear it because underneath is a memory. I never want to see that memory. It was horrible..." Leo finished wrapping the bandage around his wrist.

"Oh." Ryne changed to her human form, and swung the deer carcass around her shoulders. "So.." She changed back into a wolf, with the deer carcass balanced on her shoulders, "What happened?"

Leo looked down at the ground. "There was a...fire. It was horrible. I lost my parents in that fire. And I almost lost Mia, too. But I ran through the fire and saved her. Mia's all that I have left. The bandage hides a burn."

"Oh." Ryne held her head low, remembering the day her own parents died. They came, the packs came...Death was alla round me..
"Well," Ryne tried to lighten the atmosphere, "If we save Rose she can heal your burn. She healed my wounds from a sword." She recalled how Lord Peace had stabbed her with his weapon. She could almost feel the pain dig deeply into her shoulders.

"Even though this wound brings me pain, I don't want it to heal. Leo admitted. "It reminds me of my parents. I want to keep that memory... Leo looked away into the bushes.

"I understand." Ryne woofed, "Sometimes I wish my eyes weren't different colored. With one green and one blue eye...they...I mean...some think I have a curse or something." She recalled what the leader of the pack had yelped after his pack had killed her parents.
"The curse! The curse! The she-wolf! Look at her eyes, it is bestowed upon her by the devil himself!"

"Your eyes seem fine to me," Leo said, looking at her. "I woudn't believe there was a curse on you. No one can blame someone if they were born with that trait."

Ryne smiled with gradatude, and changed to a human as she held out her hand to Leo to help him up. "We should get back to camp soon. They'll wonder where we are. And I'm sure one Doe would be enough food for four wolves."

"Yeah," Leo said, grabbing Ryne's hand and getting up. "...Want me to hold that?" Leo was staring at the doe. His face was brighter. But he had deep, dark marks under his eyes from lack of sleep.
